I love me some gravy
be it hot or be it cold

always fulfills my tummy’s wishes

or with potatoes and fried chicken
red-eye on ham and brown on beef
that flavor’s just beyond belief
eat it for breakfast, eat it for lunch
for supper better make it a bunch

clogs my arteries, hurts my heart
not going to listen to that old fart

one who listens when I talk
and who understands that living
needs to be a bit forgiving
and that if my choices kill me
when I meet St. Peter I will be
